Out of the Mouths of Babes: Which Came First

Ryan and Connor are watching Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back with their Dad. Tension and drama are high as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker face off… and then, silence during the movie’s pivotal moment:

“I am your father,” wheezes Darth Vader.

A gasp of disbelief from Ryan:

“They stole that right out of Toy Story!”

I guess it’s all a matter of perspective, which came first. As far as our 9-year-old son is concerned, Toy Story 2 predated Star Wars by at least a couple of years, after all, he’s known Buzz and Zurg quite a bit longer than he’s known Darth Vader and Luke.
